According to planning applications that have been recently-submitted, a vacant and run-down premises on Moor Lane – which is close to Le Mans Crescent and Bolton Town Hall in the heart of the town centre – could be converted into a branch of the restaurant chain German Doner Kebab, with a drive-thru facilities attached.

CGI images published by Bolton Council in support of the application show the intended transformation of the building into a two-storey restaurant.

The premises have previously been used by local charities.

At this point, the application form for the change of use of the building from retail premises to restaurant facilities says the hours of opening for the venture are unknown. The application adds that five on-site parking spots would be created at the site.

A Bolton highways department response to the application says more information would be needed for them to deliver

an opinion.

It states: “Owing to the premises location in relation to the highways around the town centre of Bolton, the applicant will need to submit some form of transport statement in order to justify the proposed change of use.

In its present form there is insufficient information available within the submission for the Highway Authority to fully comment.”

After a period of consultation with local businesses and residents about the proposals, the proposed plans will then be considered by planners in Bolton.
