Sheffield shooting: Man, 20, shot at in Lamborghini down Ecclesall Road before fleeing.

A 20-year-old man has been seriously injured in a shooting in Sheffield this morning.

Officers from South Yorkshire Police were called shortly before 2am this morning (Monday, February 7) to reports that a man had been shot in Ecclesall Road.


The man, aged 20, had been travelling along the road in a black Lamborghini and reports that shots were fired towards the vehicle.He then fled towards Whirlowdale Road, where he got into a white Rolls-Royce with two occupants already inside and the trio travelled towards Sheffield Rugby Club, where they called emergency services.


The victim was taken to hospital in an ambulance and has suffered "serious injuries", South Yorkshire Police have reportedThe white Rolls-Royce also had gunshot damage, but the other two occupants were unharmed.Local business owners have told YorkshireLive that they expect today to be "quieter" than usual, on account of part of the road being

closed and the pavement being inaccessible One local worker, who did not want to be named, told our reporter that "Ecclesall Road is not what it used to be".



Detective Superintendent Paul Murphy said: "A cordon is currently in place in Ecclesall Road at the junction with Collegiate Crescent and a lane is out of use whilst officers continue their investigation. Please plan your route and avoid the area if you can.


"I know how distressing and worrying this incident will be for the local community and that of the wider Sheffield community.


"Please know that our investigation continues at pace and we have a dedicated team of officers working tirelessly to establish the exact circumstances of what took place this morning that led to a man being seriously injured.
