Arsenal receive Aubameyang loan bid from Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr.

Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr have offered to take Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on loan, The Athletic understands.

Aubameyang is undergoing medical examinations at Arsenal following his return from the Africa Cup of Nations.

The striker was sent home on Monday without playing a single match, alongside team-mate Mario Lemina, after Gabon reported that he was suffering from “heart lesions” following a COVID-19 diagnosis.

He still has 18 months left on his contract, but before leaving for AFCON the forward’s future at the Emirates Stadium looked uncertain.

He was stripped of the captaincy and made to work away from the senior squad for a breach of discipline.

Aubameyang has not played for his club since December 6.

Arsenal are fifth in the Premier League, two points off the Champions League places. They have two games in hand over West Ham in fourth.

Al Nassr are third in the Saudi Arabian Pro League. Their squad also boasts Cameroon striker Vincent Aboubakar, who is top scorer at AFCON.
